Call the purveyor of big blunts,
The burly one, and have him prepare A blend in plastic containers. Let the babes hanging out the laundry Flaunt their bosoms at all the young dudes Rolling sweet buds in Zig-Zag papers. Let Let It Be be our final take. The only empire is the empire of cheesecake. Take from the rolltop's secret drawer The calendar with that picture of her, The famed trollop lolling on red velvet, Stretched full-length, white in the lamp's glare. A radiant image, a platinum dream, a tease Of the beautiful blonde—who's dumb now? Her absence leaving us only a dull ache. The only empire is the empire of cheesecake. AUTHOR'S NOTE: An imitation-revision of Wallace Stevens' “The Emperor of Ice Cream.” |
